Millwood Admissions Process
Any child who already has an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) should have a review of their EHCP to ensure it fully reflects their needs, and as part of that process, parent/carers are asked, when they receive the draft amended plan, which school is their preference.
If they make a preference for Millwood, the LA would then formally consult with Millwood, who would confirm whether they could meet needs (or not) , and the LA would then consider their response and determine whether to name Millwood in the child’s plan.
As there is usually expected to be more pupils requiring places than available capacity, the LA will meet with Millwood in January each year to consider all those pupils the school feel it can meet the needs of, and they will then be prioritised according to severity of need by both LA officers and Millwood staff and places offered on that basis.
This meeting is held in January as it is a legal requirement that pre school pupils moving into school must have their amended EHCP issued by 15th February each year.
